Read Proverbs 25:6-7

For context, read Prov. 25:1-10. What connects the “glory” of king and God, v. 2? What consequence does the advice in vv. 6-7b seek to avoid? What situations in life does the advice in vv. 7c-10 apply? What does the advice seek to avoid? Some see 2 themes connecting vv. 7c-10 with vv. 2-7. Can you figure out what they might be? What connection do vv. 7c-10 have with Jesus’ advice in Matthew 5:25?

when i first read the lesson and question i immediately thought of today's politicans, trying to stand instead of and usurp God, but then second thought was we humans do the same also, i think we try to connect the "glory" to no avail. v2, is a lesson of real humbleness, that we all need to practice, regardless of the toughness. the theme to see is not to follow man or self, but the will of God and as in matthew, great multitudes will follow with him and us.
