Read Romans 13:11-14
“Time” here translates the Greek “kairos”, which refers to a critical time “when Christians are called upon to manifest by their actions that they are Christians and to conduct themselves suitably” (Jerome Commentary). What do you think the “time” is? Consider the work “wake” in v. 11a, and its contrast “sleep”. What meaning are they given in 1 Thessalonians 5:6-7? What meaning given in Mark 13:34-37? What do you think “night” and “day” mean in v. 12a? What do you think marks the difference between “works” and “armor” in v. 12b? How would you state v. 13 in positive terms rather than negative?
