Read Isaiah 49:13-23
The prophet Isaiah uses the image of a mother’s love to comfort the exiles in Babylon. What are Israel’s doubts (v. 14)? How does this passage answer them? What response is God looking for in Israel (v. 23)? What do you think it means? Is the freeing of the exiles from Babylon by Cyrus (vv. 22-23) at all like what Jesus has done for you? How so?
