Read Psalm 68:1-10, 32-35
This Psalm may be based on the return of the Ark to Jerusalem (see 1 Chronicles 15). Why did poets and preachers recount Israel’s history at such events? Which phrases in vv. 1-6 sing of God as Judge? Creator? Redeemer? Parent? What event is referred to in v. 7? When did the “earth shake” (v. 8) (see Exodus 19:16-19)? What miracles occurred in the wilderness (vv. 9-10)? What does God want us to do (vv. 32-35)?
Prayer for the week
O God of glory, your Son Jesus Christ suffered for us and ascended to your right hand. Unite us with Christ and each other, in suffering and in joy, that all your children may be drawn into your bountiful dwelling. Amen.

God wants us to praise God, listen to God, and know where the power comes from: God! Sometimes I want the power myself. And quite regularly I don't want to listen. I need to work on my listening skills!
